B&F oversaw a joint project between the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and vybe urgent care that expanded healthcare access for the community while opening up new training opportunities for medical students.
This project occurred in two phases: first, the creation of a new, expanded Family Medicine Clinic in adjacent space formerly occupied by PCOM’s bookstore and print shop; and secondly, the conversion of the existing Family Medicine Clinic into a vybe urgent care. The new Family Medicine Clinic is designed to better support PCOM’s educational mission with 15 exam rooms and precepting spaces for both medical and physician assistant students.
B&F’s Project Managers helped the team with logistics and project phasing so that the Family Medicine Clinic could stay operational throughout construction. When there were delays with furniture, we found creative solutions to allow the Family Medicine Clinic to move into their new space on time and the subsequent fit-out of vybe’s space to begin on schedule. Because patients now enter into a shared central waiting area with two separate reception desks, branding and signage was also a key challenge. The final result is a beautiful, cohesive space with distinct signage for each practice that intersperses PCOM’s signature colors throughout.
