Becker & Frondorf has supplemented Drexel’s Real Estate and Facilities Department by managing several fit-out projects for different departmental clients.
Our staff served as an extension of the University’s facilities staff, working directly with contractors and collaborating extensively with Drexel Support Services—including Technology, Security, and Environmental Services—to achieve project goals. Projects were phased around the University’s trimester schedule, often allowing only several months from design through construction.
Projects managed by B&F include the Marks Intercultural Center at the Paul Peck Problem Solving and Research Building; the Baiada Institute, Close School of Entrepreneurship at the Pearlstein Building; and Music Department renovations at MacAlister Hall. Our team successfully resolved construction and scheduling issues to ensure each of these projects was completed on time.
“In my role as VP for Facilities and Real Estate at Drexel, I shared 10 of those first 20 years with B&F, at first as a consumer of estimating services at a time we were doing quite a few large projects. B&F became one of a small number of trusted project managers we depended on when the workload was too big for the in-house team. Thanks to the great support we got from B&F and others in the construction community in Philadelphia, we were able to deliver a lot of good work.”
Robert Francis, Fomer VP for Facilities and Real Estate at Drexel University
