We served as Boeing’s special representative for change order management for a fast-track project involving major modifications to its helicopter manufacturing facility in suburban Philadelphia. The evolving project scope and rapid pace created a high volume of change order requests from contractors. Construction Manager STV needed help keeping up with third party verification, and the architect recommended that Boeing hire Becker & Frondorf.
Our Project Manager spent 18 months working on-site with the team to track scope changes and minimize change order expenses. By carefully analyzing labor and material unit costs, negotiating with contractors, and identifying errors in pricing, we saved Boeing hundreds of thousands of dollars and kept construction moving. The completed project enabled the plant to meet its goals for increased production. We went on to assist Boeing with change order reviews and budgeting for several other addition and alteration projects at its Ridley Park facility.
