Mondrian Investment Partners, a London-based firm, relocated their U.S. office from Philadelphia to Radnor. Though thousands of miles away, Mondrian’s management team was hands-on during the fit-out process with the help of B&F as their ‘boots-on-the-ground’ in Radnor.
After Mondrian signed its lease, our team jumped into action to meet their tight schedule before their move date only eight months away. B&F worked closely with Meyer Design to push the design plans forward on an accelerated schedule. Using our in-house Cost Estimating as an available resource, we advised Mondrian to procure construction before Construction Documents were complete. As a result, permits and approvals were secured and mobilization and demolition began sooner than expected, preserving the overall schedule.
As construction began, work was temporarily shut down due to COVID-19. B&F continued to press the team forward on procurement, submittals, and approvals, updating our schedule regularly so that Mondrian could continue to plan their transition into the new office. Once construction resumed, we worked with the team to develop protocols for ensuring safety on site. B&F addressed supply chain issues as early as possible, and as our client in London could no longer travel to the US for routine site walkthroughs, we increased the frequency of our reporting. The project was completed successfully despite the challenges created by the pandemic.
