Becker & Frondorf served as the overall Project Manager throughout design and construction of this dramatic, 100,000-square-foot new museum on Independence Mall. It houses approximately 25,000 square feet of exhibits, an education center, auditorium, store, café, and special events facilities.

This ground-up project involved a huge team of world-renowned building and exhibit designers, as well as specialty retail and food service experts. B&F skillfully coordinated their work to ensure that the base building’s infrastructure would support the museum’s multi-media exhibit elements and operational needs.
Skillfully Negotiating Contracts
When the initial estimates came in high, our staff helped to find innovative measures to reduce costs without sacrificing the overall vision. We worked with the builder to negotiate a lump-sum contract and fast-tracked the project using two early packages for demolition and excavation/concrete. During a time of economic uncertainty and escalating construction costs, the beautiful new museum was delivered on time and on budget.
